It is said that when you worship Shiva, Mata Kalika, Lord Vaman, Hanumanji, Yamdev and Lord Krishna on this day, you do not have to go to hell after death. Pay your obeisances to deities in the Vishnu and Krishna temples. This removes sin and gives beauty. On the day of Narak Chaturdashi, one should take a bath by mixing a few drops of jasmine oil or Ittar (a type of perfume) in the bath water. This removes physical and planetary defects.
